Betsy Gidwitz is Secretary of the Jewish Federation/Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago. She is also Vice Chairman of the Council for Jewish Elderly and Vice President of the Chicago Chapter of the American Jewish Committee.
She previously served on the Boards of the Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston, the Council of Jewish Federations and the United Israel Appeal.
An expert on post-Soviet affairs, she most recently was on the faculty of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Betsy Gidwitz holds a Ph.D. from the University of Washington.
A member of the Jewish Agency’s Board of Governors since June 2000, she Chairs the Russian Speaking Jewry Committee.
