Mr. Yigal Bibi (WZO)

Board Member

Yigal Bibi is a former Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset. He was born in Tiberias, studied at the Bnei Akiva Talmudic College before gaining a BA in political science and Jewish history at Bar-Ilan University. He worked as a teacher.

Bibi served as mayor of his hometown, and was deputy chairman of the Union of Local Authorities. A member of the central institutions of the National Religious Party, he was first elected to the Knesset in 1988. He served as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Deputy Minister of the Environment. He served as a Member of the Administrative Committee of Bar-Ilan University

After being re-elected in 1992, Bibi became the party's parliamentary group chairman.

Towards the elections for the eighteens Knesset, he announced his retirement from the party and joined Shas.

He is a Board member since June 2010.
